Down on the Farm

Today we went for a family outing to Blackberry Farm in Aurora.  In all of my years living here, I don't think I have ever been there before.  Maybe we went as a school thing when I was little but I don't remember it!  We had a blast!  It was the perfect day out with a breeze, sunny and in the 60s or 70s.  (I'm not that great at temps).  BEAUTIFUL!!!

Right away, Chloe wanted to climb the fences.  This girl LOVES to climb!

And boy oh boy did she love the animals.  This little chicken she was particularly fond of as it continually clucked at her.  She didn't want to leave to go see the calf, goats and sheep.  I have seen sheep before but I have never heard sheep "baaa" so much before in my life!!  The three sheeps were just talking away!

Next it was onto the kids play area.  Chloe was just tall enough to ride on the little John Deere tractor.  Christopher and I went out onto the "track" with her because we didn't think that she would be able to move that much and to our surprise she started pushing herself!  First time she has done that!  I wished I had my Flip Video with me to take a video but this cute picture will have to do!

Oh and then the Carousel!  We went on this two times.  The first time she did not want to get off!  She loved it!  Held on tight the entire time too....

Because I am most often the one taking pictures, I have to remember to stop and ask Christopher to take a picture of my girl and me.  She has already grown up too much!  I want to be able to treasure each step along the way.

On the grounds, they have all sorts of old time buildings... old farm machinery, old carriages, old post offices, black smith shop and a one room school house.  Here Chloe is ready for school already!

All in all it was great fun day!  Just enough time for us to quickly visit everything and let Chloe have a blast outdoors!  I love family days!

It was a big day for Chloe in other ways too!!!  She said the words open, ball and please for the first times today!!!  My baby girl is growing up!!!

  3. I love the picture of her sitting at the desk in the old schoolhouse. We love Blackberry Farm too. Does your dad still go fishing there sometimes? We were always going to meet him up there sometime but never have. We should plan that sometime!
